Job summary

Actalent, Inc. in Holtsville, NY is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a contract-to-hire role.

The ideal candidate has 0-3 years of experience and basic to intermediate knowledge of high-volume commercial product design, with familiarity in microprocessor-based designs. You will design, test, and evaluate electronic components, create schematics, select parts, and analyze performance using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 0–3 years of experience preferred/acceptable.
• Familiarity with high-volume commercial product design is a plus.
• Experience with Cadence schematic entry/design tools is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts and circuitry for hardware systems.
• Determines design approaches and parameters.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests.
• Selects components based on specs and reliability.
• Works with CAE tools and lab equipment for testing.

Looking for 0-3 Years of experience!

The ideal candidate understands high-volume commercial product design and is familiar with the design concepts of commercial portable and handheld devices - but this is not a requirement. They will be testing the prototype to ensure it is ready for production. Someone with microprocessor based design experience would be ideal.

Job Description:

• Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.
• Determines design approaches and parameters.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
• Understands basic electronic circuitry concepts and is familiar with electronic design documentation and schematics.
• Has CAE experience (e.g. Cadence Schematic entry/Design tools).
• Is comfortable with electronics test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and other common lab equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
