Job Description
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of embedded software, mobile applications, and hardware-integrated systems. This position supports the full product lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing coordination.
Job Duties
Embedded Software Development
- Develop embedded software using C and C++.
- Program LCD (Touch Panel) interfaces.
- Implement and troubleshoot I2C serial interface communications.
- Develop and integrate wireless communication interfaces, including IR, RF, Bluetooth, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
- Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
- Develop new software applications and modify existing software.
- Ensure code adheres to industry standards and internal development practices.
- Develop test procedures and perform software and product testing.
Hardware Development
- Design new products and modify existing products (PCB layout and electrical design)
- Collaborate with other technical disciplines to develop optimal products through the development of firmware, human-machine interfaces, and mechanical assemblies to meet overall system operational/performance requirements
- Compile design files for manufacturing (Bills of Materials, system documentation, and testing procedures)
- Develop prototypes and oversee the construction of new products or modifications to existing products
- Perform new product testing (EMC, life cycle, etc.)
- Troubleshoot new designs and perform component failure analysis
- Act as a technical resource for field sales and customer service
- Responsible for the development process from concept through the production life cycle
- Communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to peers, clients, and management
- Develop practical solutions to a wide range of moderate to difficult problems within time and cost constraints
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to ensure system performance requirements are met.
- Communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale, and technical solutions to peers, clients, and management.
- Act as a technical resource to address internal and external technical inquiries.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Develop practical engineering solutions to moderately complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 1–3 years of embedded software development experience.
- Proficiency in C programming language.
- Experience with microcontrollers (preferred).
- Familiarity with wireless communication technologies (BLE, Wi-Fi, RF, IR).
- Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles.
- Experience with software testing and debugging.
- Experience with PCB layout and design.
- Familiarity with electronics, soldering, and electronic test equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
