Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design distribution and controls for data centers, industrial, and healthcare facilities.

You will join a growing team, producing designs to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. This role requires a PE license, an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree, and 4+ years in power distribution design for mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; ABET-accredited.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• 4+ years of progressive electrical design experience for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IECC, IEC and IEEE standards.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences; Revit experience a plus; sustainability emphasis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and review agencies to deliver comprehensive designs.
• Lead electrical design portions in a multi-discipline project environment.
• Develop studies and narratives to meet project requirements.
• Design code-compliant electrical systems to meet uptime and reliability goals.
• Conduct fault current, short circuit, and protective device coordination analyses.
• Participate in site visits and mentor junior staff.

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in designing distribution and controls associated with infrastructure for data centers, industrial, and healthcare facilities. The selected candidate will be part of our growing team and will be responsible for electrical designs to achieve enhanced efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to provide a comprehensive project design.
• Leads technical electrical design portions of a projects in a multi-discipline environment.
• Develops studies and narratives to help clients meet project requirements.
• Selects equipment and designs code compliant electrical systems to achieve client objectives related to uptime and reliability of mission-critical facilities.
• Conducts fault current analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination studies.
• Participates in project site visits.
• Mentors, directs, and oversees work of junior staff and designers.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineering license (PE)
• 4+ years of progressive experience in the electrical engineering field with emphasis on design of power distribution systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IECC, IEC, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE standards.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively with a wide range of audiences.
• Experience with Revit a plus.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient systems a plus
