Job summary

Summary

What we’re looking for: Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineer to assist with the development and design of engineering documents and related project tasks.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) / Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
Skills
  • Working knowledge of civil site design, including site layout, grading, storm drainage, utilities, and erosion & sedimentation control.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Working knowledge of other essential equipment and software for field and office work.
Education & Experience Qualifications
  • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and engineering designs for projects.
  • Assists with client communication and attends client meetings as needed.
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, and test data to support project planning and design.
  • Uses computer‑assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering documents.
  • Accompanies Engineers on site visits as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read alphanumeric symbols for computation and design.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to project issues that arise.
