Job summary

SAIC seeks an Electrical Engineer to support radar systems development, testing, repair, and maintenance of advanced systems including AN/SPS-73 and AN/SPQ-9B. You will develop test procedures, analyze schematics, and collaborate with technicians to ensure high-performance subassemblies.

Responsibilities include defining test specs for power supplies and RF modules, conducting HV testing, and performing system-level maintenance with a focus on reliability and safety. Candidate must hold a B.E.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Experience developing procedures for testing and repairing power supplies, RF modules, and CCAs.
  • Proficiency in radar system repair and maintenance, especially AN/SPS-73 and/or AN/SPQ-9B radar systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Hands-on testing of high-voltage power supplies, 115VAC three-phase, and 440VAC systems.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and leadership.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface with technicians, Task Lead, and Branch Manager on status, repair requirements, and improvements.

Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to support our team in the development, testing, repair, and maintenance of advanced radar systems, subassemblies, and electrical components. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in testing and repair processes, technical analysis, and radar systems, specifically AN/SPS-73 and/or AN/SPQ-9B systems.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Testing and Development
    • Develop test processes, procedures, and specifications, ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards.
    • Design and fabricate test fixtures and test sets for comprehensive system and sub-system evaluations.
    • Collaborate with technicians for effective testing and repair of radar system consoles and associated components.
  • Review and Analysis
    • Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for clarity and completeness.
    • Perform gap analyses on available technical data to determine missing information required for systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies maintenance.
  • Equipment and Component Testing
    • Define and document test specifications for power supplies, RF modules, and digital CCAs.
    • Work closely with high-voltage power supplies, 115VAC three-phase, and 440VAC systems.
  • Radar Systems Maintenance
    • Conduct reliable maintenance and testing procedures for radar systems, including AN/SPS-73 and AN/SPQ-9B systems, using authorized and approved protocols.
    • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to radar systems and subsystems.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Interface with technicians, Task Lead, and Branch Manager to ensure effective communication on system status, repair requirements, and procedural improvements.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
    • Demonstrated experience in developing procedures for testing and repairing power supplies, RF modules, and CCAs.
    • Proficiency in radar system repair and maintenance, especially AN/SPS-73 and/or AN/SPQ-9B radar systems.
    • Proficient knowledge of electronics with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
    • Hands-on experience in testing high-voltage power supplies, 115VAC three-phase, and 440VAC systems.
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Preferred
    • Specific experience with AN/SPS-73 and/or AN/SPQ-9B radar system maintenance, testing, and repair.
    • Experience designing test fixtures and test sets.
