Job summary

TAP Engineering LLC, located in Columbia, MD, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will design electrical components and PCBs, perform analyses, and contribute to prototype fabrication and testing.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of PCB design experience (Altium preferred). A Master’s degree and security clearance are a plus. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Designing electrical components and systems, including schematic capture and routing layout for digital, RF/analog, and mixed signal printed circuit boards
• Performing engineering analyses
• Fabricating, assembling, and qualifying first article engineering prototypes
• Developing and executing test plans and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field)
• 3+ years of overall engineering experience
• Experience designing printed circuit boards, including schematic capture and routing layout in CAD software (e.g., Altium)
• Experience developing electronics test requirements, plans, and procedures at the system and component level

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field)
• Experience with battery systems testing, validation, and safe integration
• Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI Clearance

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000, based on relevant experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors. The compensation range provided is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
