Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design on building projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and maintaining client relations. The role requires PE licensure, strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, and experience in lighting, power, and building systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidiscipline team through the project team's development.
  • Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to electrical systems.
  • Lead the electrical lead on many projects.
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines.
  • Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
  • Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
  • Preference is given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
