Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks an Electrical Engineer for our Albany, NY office. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering lighting, power, and fire alarm systems for complex building projects.

Requirements include a B.S. in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited), 4+ years designing Electrical Building Systems, and an EIT; PE is preferred. Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience designing Electrical Building Systems.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred.
• Experience with engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Design lighting, power distribution, and communication systems, including fire alarm systems.
• Prepare technical design documents.
• Use AutoCAD and/or Revit/BIM to model construction drawings for building systems from schematic design to construction administration phases.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with the contract documents.
• Job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years' experience designing Electrical Building Systems
• EIT required, PE preferred.
• Experience with engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, AutoCAD.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
• Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
