Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems team and shape the electrical architecture for gigawatt-scale battery systems.

You'll lead HV ESS design, drive BMS interfaces, mentor engineers, and collaborate across mechanical, software, and manufacturing to deliver production-ready solutions. This role requires hands-on debugging, schematic reviews, PCBA layout and a passion for renewable energy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with high-voltage systems.
• Experience designing PCBAs and bringing electrical systems to production at scale.
• Strong fundamentals and ability to solve complex system-level problems.
• Proven track record influencing architecture across multiple teams.
• Familiarity with HV system design, safety, grounding/isolation.
• Proficiency in SPICE, Altium, MATLAB.
• Experience designing for medium to high volume manufacturing.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the electrical architecture for Peak's HV ESS platform across current and next-generation systems.
• Lead development of battery management and supervisory control architecture, defining design principles, interfaces, and quality standards.
• Set direction on schematic capture, PCBA architecture, and layout standards; participate hands-on where the problem warrants senior technical judgment.
• Drive HV system design and integration from early architecture through continuous improvement in production.
• Define electrical component strategy - including qualification, second-source strategy, and long-term supply resilience.
• Establish and evolve tools, infrastructure, and design practices that enable a growing team to scale.
• Provide technical mentorship to Staff and Senior electrical engineers; grow the technical bench by shaping design reviews, standards, and career-path decisions.
• Represent electrical engineering in cross-functional decision forums with mechanical, thermal, software, controls, manufacturing, and reliability.
• Own critical technical outcomes: testing, system integration, validation, and production readiness of Peak products.
• Champion a culture of rapid prototyping, disciplined risk-taking, and hands-on problem solving. No job is too big or too small.

About the Role - Electrical Engineer

Peak Energy is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and be heavily involved with the technical direction for our gigawatt-scale battery electrical and controls systems.

In this role, you'll support the electrical architecture of Peak's next-generation ESS platform - driving critical design decisions, and influencing engineering direction across multiple teams. You'll stay hands-on where it counts - schematic reviews, PCBA architecture, integration debugging - while shaping the broader roadmap.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications):

• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of battery chemistry, BMS (Battery Management Systems) and relevant electrical and safety standards.
• Utility-scale energy storage systems experience

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000 , with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes:
