Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer at our Bradley, Illinois facility. The role supervises plant electricians and electronic technicians, coordinating daily manufacturing activities and equipment installations to support production goals.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of control systems and AutoCAD for design and modification.

Division Overview

Crown's Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and support daily productions activities. This is a managerial position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians and electronic technicians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant setting
  • Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action
  • Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
  • Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
  • Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
  • Supports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel
  • Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
  • Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems
  • Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling)
  • Facility power distribution to include voltage up to 4160v, three-phase
  • Instrumentation and calibration knowledge
  • Process control systems – set-up and program applications (Honeywell)
  • Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD software
  • Installation, set-up and programming of PLC’s (Allen-Bradley)
  • Working knowledge of motor controls, VFD’s, DC drives, Eddy Current Systems and/or Modicon system design
  • At least three years of proven supervisory experience
  • Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience plus an Associate’s degree
Preferred Requirements
  • Green or black belt certification in Six Sigma
  • Electrical Journeyman’s certification
  • Packaging industry experience
Competencies
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people
  • Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.
  • Must be able to look at new solutions and "think outside the box"
  • Strong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
Physical Requirements
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Compensation

$86,761.00 to $137,929.00 per year.
