Job Title: Test Equipment Design Engineer, Electrical
Pay Rate: Up to $ 75.18/hr. (DOE)
Responsibilitie
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of PCBA design - from requirements generation, component selection, schematic & layout development, design release through vendor DFM, bring up, verification, configuration management, sustainin
- Ensure PCBA designs meet safety, reliability, and compliance standards for high-power and hazardous system
- Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams, simulations, analysis, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8 Discipline (8D) report
- Work cross functionally with System Engineering, Mechanical/Electro-Mechnical, Firmware/Software, & Test/Verification teams to define, design, & test PCBAs and resolve Electrical System related issue
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of released PCBA design
- Document Design Concepts, Architecture, Block Diagrams, Bring-Up/Test Results, Root Cause Investigations, and Decision Matrice
Skills/Experien
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (battery or energy storage systems experience is a plus); OR Master's degree with years of relevant experienc e.
- Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD SW Altium or equivale nt.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, power electronics (high voltage, high power, AC, SMPS, LDO), processing (MCU, MPU, SOM), networking (Ethernet, CAN-FD, isoSPI), on board communication (SPI, UART, I2C, JTAG), data acquisition (IO, ADC, DAC), and control systems (gate drivers, motor drivers, HS D).
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations in high-power and/or chemical environmen ts.
- Demonstrated experience designing PCBAs and Electrical Systems to UL 991, 1973, 9540, 1998 requiremen ts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance speed, rigor, and safe ty.
- Familiarity with the SW including PLM (e.g. Arena or Team Center), product development SW (e.g. JIRA) and requirement management tools (e.g. JAM A).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environme nt.
