Job Summary

This role focuses on power distribution, managing components such as circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers, disconnects, distribution panels, and AC/DC wiring. Responsibilities include red‑lining schematics, troubleshooting components, creating solutions for customer issues, performing engineering calculations, drafting bills of materials, reviewing cut sheets, overseeing electrical supplies management, and inspecting and sizing wire, breakers, and wire ways. The engineer collaborates closely with purchasing and engineering teams to verify vendor materials meet form‑fit & functions specifications.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and design electrical systems, selecting products, components, and materials to meet application and customer requirements.
  • Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods and procedures; support customer system testing and witness testing.
  • Develop solutions to support product sales by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; solicit observations from the manufacturing floor.
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; coordinate with quality department and quality systems (ISO).
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests; support sales, customers, warranty, and field service.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by ensuring compliance with State and Local regulations and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Program PLC interfaces and integrate with building management systems and communications equipment.
  • Create and maintain a product database to support product engineering and sales departments.
  • Participate in training development projects for shop floor personnel and guide field technicians.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in market‑related societies.
