Summary

The Electrical Engineer works within cross-functional teams, including other designers, customers, manufacturing, and project leadership to ensure robust, high-quality product development. In this role, you will research and develop new electrical systems and circuits for various applications, capturing plans through detailed schematics and system specifications. You will be responsible for enhancing designs based on reviews (manufacturing, test, and reliability), simulating and validating systems, and providing technical support throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies. May also solve complex problems in cooperation with a team of other engineers.
  • Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.
  • Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems.
  • Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica's needs.
  • Create designs in line with Celestica's procedures, regulations, and customer standards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
  • Solve complex problems.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
  • Create Schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Diagrams, and Drawings.
  • Analyze and Interpret Data and Information.
  • Create Reports and Documentation.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Engineering Foundation Competencies.
  • Working knowledge of PCB design tools Cadence Allegro 16.x & 17.x; experience with Valor Trilogy 5000/NPI is preferred.
  • Familiar with high-density PCB design.
  • Working knowledge of setting and complying with board and trace constraints.
  • Working knowledge of PCB & PCBA manufacturing processes along with industry and quality standards; knowledge of IPC standards is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT platforms and database design.
  • Familiar with EMC & EMI layout requirements.
  • Able to summarize layout experience based on customer requirements.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing assignments in a dynamic environment with aggressive schedules and complex design requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
