Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group is seeking an Entry Level Electrical Drafter/Designer to deliver design and drafting services for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project requirements. You will contribute to Power & Electrical Distribution, One-Line Diagrams, Schematics, and interconnection drawings within a collaborative EPCm environment.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in a technical field and possess 1–2 years of drafting experience with 2-D CAD; familiarity

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 1-2 years design/drafting experience preferred.
• Proficient in 2-D CAD; familiarity with 3-D CAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and drafting services that meet client requirements and conform to codes and standards.
• Prepare Power & Electrical Distribution drawings and Electrical One-Line Diagrams.
• Create Schematics and Interconnection diagrams.
• Develop Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, and Heat Tracing.
• Produce Conduit/Cable Schedules and Electrical Details.

Job description

The Electrical Drafter/Designer (Entry Level) is responsible for design and drafting services that meet the client’s requirements and expectations while conforming to appropriate Codes and Standards for the associated project. Detailed designs and drawings include:

• Power & Electrical Distribution
• Electrical One-Line Diagrams
• Schematics
• Interconnection diagrams
• Plans-Lighting, Grounding, Power, Heat Tracing, etc
• Conduit/Cable Schedules
• Electrical Details

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
• 1-2 years design/drafting experience & skilled in standard drafting techniques, preferred
• Proficient in 2-D CAD; 3-D CAD, Plant Design, other Autodesk® products a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical highly desired
• Knowledge of or proficient in field investigations and measurements
• Working knowledge of Codes and Standards
• Working knowledge of or familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and performing self-checking of work
