Job description

Electrical Drafter

Description of Work:

Immediate full-time position for Electrical Drafters proficient in AutoCAD. Candidates will join the engineering design/drafting team. The position can be based in Middletown, RI or New London, CT.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop 2D Cabling Diagrams according to Military Specifications.
  • Create Wiring Tables, Elementary Wiring Diagrams, and Lists of Material (LOM).
  • Interpret Government Furnished Information (GFI) to meet design requirements.
  • Update and maintain electrical drawing packages using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to standards and practices.
  • Conduct ship checks on SSN 688/688I, SEAWOLF, VIRGINIA, and OHIO Class submarines.
  • Research submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and implement required changes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Navy military and civilian personnel.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Technical school or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of submarine systems, Military Specifications, and defense industry experience is advantageous.
