Job summary

Guernsey Brand seeks an electrical distribution-focused professional to assist with plan development, system design, and data analysis for distribution projects. You will work with experienced engineers to learn and grow in a hands-on role within a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

The position involves analyzing distribution systems, using Milsoft WindMil and Light Table, reading electrical drawings, and traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electrical field and related utility work experience.
• 2+ years in electric distribution, utility operations, electrical design, or related field preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, maps, and technical documentation.
• Strong computer skills and willingness to learn technical software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Long-Range Plans, Construction Work Plans, and Coordination Studies for electric distribution cooperatives.
• Assist with the design of overhead and underground distribution systems, including new construction and system upgrades.
• Perform technical analysis using Milsoft WindMil and Light Table software.
• Assist with distribution system modeling, mapping, and data collection.
• Support the preparation and documentation of protective device settings for reclosers and breakers.
• Participate in Periodic Work Order Inspections and field visits to ensure design quality and system reliability.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of technical standards for distribution infrastructure.
• Support utility relocation planning and coordination with clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, design materials, and specifications.
