Job summary

Impellam Group seeks an Engineering Technologist II to support electric distribution projects, assist with service design, project coordination, and customer-facing activities in our energy utility operations in Charlotte, NC.

This role requires an associate degree, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency with Excel; travel to field sites may be needed. Collaboration across departments and with customers is essential to ensure timely, quality project delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of utility operations, electric distribution, or related technical environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and coordination of electric distribution service projects.
• Gather and validate project information from customers, contractors, electricians, and field personnel.
• Utilize established design tools, spreadsheets, and work management systems to determine project requirements, equipment sizing, and material needs.
• Perform field visits to assess site conditions and support project development.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and external customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain project documentation, records, and system data within company applications.
• Support design activities and work order development using utility design and asset management systems.
• Provide professional, customer-focused communication while resolving questions and addressing service-related concerns.
• Ensure designs and project activities comply with company standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
