HDR, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Electrical Distribution Area Business Class Lead to guide staff and projects across transmission and distribution engineering.

You will drive area coordination, deliver client-focused services, and mentor diverse teams to uphold HDR’s standards and culture. This role emphasizes technical excellence, leadership of cross-functional teams, and active participation in HDR’s employee-owned environment, with locations in Minnesota and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of experience in electrical distribution or a related field.
• Professional engineering registration and related technical experience.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams and working with cross-functional leaders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and improve technical competencies of electrical distribution staff to meet client needs and market drivers.
• Deliver project services to meet client expectations.
• Collaborate with area operations, marketing and project management on distribution efforts.
• Participate in practice groups, project teams and quality assurance activities to improve standards.
• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation for the business class.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of the electrical distribution business class staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers, all within direction and goals of business class plans
• Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations
• Collaborate on electrical distribution business class efforts with area operations, marketing and project management
• Participate in electrical distribution business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews
• Participate in electrical distribution business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
• Master’s Degree
• Electrical distribution studies experience, including load flow, arc flash, load growth, etc.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
• 10 years of experience
• Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
• Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
• Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
• Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
