Job summary

AEP in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Distribution Dispatching Coordinator to oversee the coordination of equipment removal, maintenance dispatch, and outage responses on the distribution system. The role involves supervising staff and ensuring safe, efficient operation of the network while aligning with company procedures.

The position requires an associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or a bachelor’s degree in any field and at least three years of experience as an electric system

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or electronic technology, or bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as an electric system operator.
• Successful completion of SOPD and Data Entry tests.
• Knowledge of safety codes and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and health programs and compliance.
• Coordinate distribution system operations and dispatch activities.
• Verify switching orders for removal/restoration of equipment.
• Prepare switching orders with steps and safety tagging.
• Provide technical guidance to field and dispatch teams.
• Coordinate service restoration after outages.
• Approve and coordinate facility outages and voltage levels.
• Maintain logs/records of operations.
• Notify designated personnel of abnormal conditions.
• Support training and provide operational guidance to dispatch/field staff.
• Lead dispatch coordination during restoration events.
