Middough Inc. in Cleveland, OH seeks an Electrical Designer to create simple designs that meet client requirements and codes. You will generate plans and isometrics, apply drafting standards, and guide drafters to ensure quality.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in a technical field, 5–7 years drafting experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, plus knowledge of NEC and power distribution. The role may lead projects and requires strong communication and attention to detail.

Electrical Designer - Position and Responsibilities

As an Electrical Designer with Middough, you will create and establish simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. Designers also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provide guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Generate design and detail drawings including plans/sections, and isometrics to support Discipline Leads.
• Manage and maintain the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings).
• Potential to serve as a Project Lead and/or Discipline Lead for select single discipline projects to estimate work hours, develop scope of work, check drawings, complete quality processes, provide monthly updates, and attend project meetings.
• Interact with Clients to convey project design and identify scope changes.
• Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.

Education, Experience and Skills

• Proficient in computer functions required to perform AutoCAD and Revit design.
• Associate Degree in a technical discipline or related experience.
• 5 - 7 years of drafting experience.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, reference documents and guides.
• Knowledge of power distribution (480V - 12kV, lighting, grounding, motor controls, and heat tracing).
• Demonstrated electrical design experience in energy, chemical or industrial experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities for efficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, twist/bend, use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers and talk and hear.
• Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
• May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as climbing ladders and/or stairs, extreme heat and/or cold, and/or poor air quality) if or when on-site at a client facility. Noise levels may be moderate to high at various client sites, hearing protection may be required and/or provided. Safety protections to be provided by the client and/or company and are required to be used and followed.
• May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
• This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
