Job summary

Shaw Group in Tyler, TX is seeking an Electrical Designer to lead complete electrical engineering design for module packages within oil & gas projects. You will perform 3D modeling and develop electrical layouts, ensuring compliance with codes and client specs while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or EPC projects, strong knowledge of HV/LV distribution, and proficiency with CAD/3D tools such as AutoCAD Electrical,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Oil & Gas or EPC projects.
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/ NEC/ UL/ IS/ API standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop SLDs, load lists, load calculations and cable sizing.
• Create electrical layouts and small power/lighting drawings.
• Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets.
• Review vendor drawings and support equipment selection.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil teams.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP and model reviews.
• Provide support during construction, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure adherence to schedules, quality and safety requirements.
