Job summary

Kent in Deer Park, TX is seeking an Electrical Designer to support regional operation projects. You will bring thorough instrumentation design knowledge and ensure technical accuracy of instrument drawings, with strong problem solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities include preparing accurate drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, conducting field investigations, updating design standards, and resolving design and field issues to deliver compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Technical college graduation with minimum 5 years of related experience.
• 5–8 years’ experience in refinery, midstream, petrochemical or heavy industries.
• Substation design experience preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Intools (Smartplant), Bentley and Navisworks.
• Familiar with NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE design standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate drawings using practical design knowledge.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and assist lead engineers/designers to ensure quality.
• Conduct field investigations when needed and produce detailed field reports.
• Keep up to date on new design processes, modeling, drafting techniques, and IMS standards.
• Develop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower costs and improve work quality.
• Investigate and resolve design and field engineering problems with new approaches.
• Ensure effective design/engineering methods are used.
• Resolve project issues and provide technical guidance to co-workers.
• Ensure alignment between all disciplines involved with 3D CAD for model reviews and deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
