Job summary

Solarcraft in Sugar Land, TX is seeking an Electrical Designer II to develop complete electrical drawing packages for backup power and integrated PLC systems. The role requires extensive AutoCAD Electrical expertise, ladder-logic drawings, and NEC compliance to translate engineering direction into precise, coordinated packages.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, CADD, or a related technical field preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, including project setup, schematic drafting, symbol libraries, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical drawing packages for backup power systems and integrated PLC/control systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Translate high-level engineering direction, functional requirements, and equipment information into detailed drawings with minimal drafting oversight.
• Prepare power and control schematics, ladder-style PLC/control drawings, PLC I/O diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs as required.
