Job summary

KLH Engineers, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our growing team. You’ll develop construction-ready electrical design documents for water and wastewater projects under senior engineers in our Pittsburgh office.

You’ll use AutoCAD to create detailed diagrams and collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation teams. A Associate degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred, with strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Experience with power distribution and lighting; knowledge of SCADA systems.
• Detail-oriented with clean, professional drawings and CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings including single-line diagrams, power layouts, conduit schedules, lighting and grounding plans.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare construction documents.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation teams.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local codes in design work.
• Incorporate control panel layouts, motor control centers, PLC I/O wiring.
• Assist in SCADA and instrumentation layouts with control systems engineers.
• Support bidding and construction phases by responding to RFIs, submittals, and as-built markups.
