Job summary

Bw Papersystems in the United States is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our engineering team. You will develop electrical designs for new machinery, modify existing systems, and prepare layouts and BOMs to support customer-specific projects.

The role requires hands-on CAD work and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will support manufacturing, commissioning, and field service trips, troubleshoot design issues on site, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; associate or technical degree preferred.
  • 2+ years’ electrical design experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs for new machines using schematics and specifications.
  • Modify existing designs to meet customer requirements or modernization needs.
  • Create electrical layouts and drawings with CAD tools; assess fit and cost.
  • Perform basic electrical calculations for fuses, starters, relays, and conductors.
  • Redesign control systems to accommodate changes in operating conditions.
  • Prepare BOMs, sketches, and documentation; maintain project files.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to resolve issues.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing and field service trips.
