Your Opportunity

Our Buildings team seeks an Electrical Designer to work under close guidance on tasks and smaller projects, and as part of a larger project team under a Senior Engineer/Designer. Responsibilities include evaluating, selecting, and engineering electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and other low voltage systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Tasks may include Revit and AutoCAD design, engineering calculations, and field work.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret drawings, codes, and related materials.
  • Create electrical design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform engineering calculations for building electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines under senior guidance.
  • Perform field work as directed.
  • Assist with engineering duties on various projects.
  • Gather data to support design decisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a project team and engage in creative and critical thinking.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs.
  • Ability to follow directions, processes, and accept feedback.
  • Revit and AutoCAD skills are preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AGI 32, Visual Lighting Software, SKM, or Newforma is a plus.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with emphasis on lighting/electrical.
  • Previous co-op/internship experience preferred.
  • Working towards or having passed the EIT exam is desirable.
  • EIT credentials are a plus.

Work environment includes office settings and potential field work in varied weather conditions.
