Job summary

ON.energy is seeking an Electrical Designer to own panel design and electrical schematic development for battery systems and power electronics. You will work with engineers to translate designs into manufacturable documentation, hands-on in AutoCAD Electrical, and maintain BOMs for procurement and manufacturing.

The role requires 3+ years in electrical design, strong AutoCAD Electrical skills, and experience generating BOMs from schematics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical design or drafting in power electronics, industrial controls, or energy storage.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience generating BOMs from electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of panel design conventions, wire numbering, and component symbol standards.
• Familiarity with UL 508A or similar panel build standards is a plus.
• Experience with battery systems, UPS, switchgear or related power infra products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical panel layouts and control panel designs for battery systems, UPS, and EMS products.
• Create and revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Generate and maintain bills of materials directly from schematics, ensuring accuracy between design and procurement data.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers to incorporate design changes and resolve interferences.
• Support drawing standardization, symbol libraries, and title block/template consistency across projects.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineering and manufacturing.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing on panel build questions and drawing clarifications.
• Maintain revision control and documentation standards across schematic packages.
