Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to design electrical systems for automation machinery.

You will translate complex requirements into precise, production-ready designs and collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and customers. The role focuses on developing schematics, selecting components, ensuring UL/NEC/NFPA 79 compliance, performing heat-load and SCCR analyses, and delivering BOMs and part data in ERP/CAD systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience in electrical design or a related field.
  • Associate degree in drafting, or a high school diploma combined with equivalent technical design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical components and their applications.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical schematics for standard and new automation machines.
  • Select electrical components and develop complete system designs based on project and customer requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
  • Perform electrical design analysis, including heat-load and SCCR calculations.
  • Complete project schematics and bills of materials while meeting project deadlines.
  • Create and modify parts, jobs, and BOMs within ERP and CAD systems.
  • Collaborate daily with the design and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to assembly personnel during machine build and integration.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering, design improvements, and task automation.
  • Research electrical components and stay current with industry technologies and trends.
  • Participate in cross-functional R&D initiatives.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, both in the office and in the field.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow established safety standards.
