Job summary

PACO Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer in Jersey City to support Design Standards and Quality Assurance within Port Authority projects.

The role reviews design and construction documents for tenant alterations and design audits, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and technical requirements. The candidate will handle medium-voltage systems above 600 V, coordinate with tenants, facilities personnel and reviewers, and prepare concise comments and memoranda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York and/or New Jersey is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of diverse professional experience involving building electrical codes and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes, design practices, and construction requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical comments and correspondence.
• Ability to coordinate multiple technical reviews and projects with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical design and construction documents for Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA), Design Audit projects, and other Port Authority facility projects.
• Perform technical reviews of electrical systems, including medium-voltage systems above 600 volts, for code compliance.
• Download, organize, and perform preliminary reviews of electronic TAA submissions.
• Review drawings, load calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness and code compliance.
• Coordinate comments from other engineering and design disciplines and prepare memoranda.
• Attend meetings with tenant Architects and Engineers of Record to discuss technical review comments and progress issues.
• Assign appropriate technical disciplines to perform required code and design reviews.
• Track submissions, reviews, responses, and outstanding issues through completion.
