Job summary

Gaylor Electric, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering electrical system designs for nationwide projects ranging from $1 million to $400 million. You will guide preconstruction, coordinate with architects and clients, and ensure designs meet NEC and life-safety codes.

The role requires extensive experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Autodesk tools, plus strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Education and experience aligned with construction management or construction technology.
• Proven knowledge of NEC, IBC, IECC and life-safety codes.
• Experience supervising electrical contractors and leading design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects in preconstruction, guiding design engineers and the virtual design team.
• Ensure code compliance and best practice adoption across designs.
• Perform and review load, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting calculations.
• Mentor and develop the design team, overseeing schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with Architects, engineers, MEP subcontractors, and clients.
• Review contracts, BIM plans, and scopes for compliant, cost-effective designs.
• Produce coordination and installation drawings per Gaylor Electric standards.
• Drive Value Engineering and site coordination across projects.
• Ensure regional financial and quality performance.
