Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS, seeks an Electrical Design Intern to help establish and maintain design standards, develop 3D models, schematics and drawings, and support project teams with technical tasks.

The ideal candidate is pursuing an Associate's, Vocational, or Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering Technology, or related field, and is familiar with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks. U.S. citizenship for badge access is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's, Vocational, or Bachelor's degree in Design & Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, Design, or a related field.
• Experience with 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, or Navisworks, and familiarity with the latest operating systems.
• Ability to visualize and conceptualize in a 3D environment.

Responsibilities

• Report on project progress and issues to Lead Electrical Designers
• Apply engineering codes at national and local levels
• Develop and review 3D models and plan drawings for electrical deliverables
• Create schematics, one-line drawings, and concept sketches from engineering inputs
• Maintain and organize master drawing sets, revisions, and originals
• Complete as-built documentation using RFI forms, ECNs, and red-marked drawings
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with design team members
• Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements
• Resolve comments from checked drawings and update electrical cable schedules
• Model electrical components from vendor submittals and electrical designs
• Support project development with miscellaneous technical tasks
