Job summary

Thorson Baker + Associates is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the schematic, design development, construction documents and construction administration for institutional and commercial buildings.

You will engineer power and lighting systems, perform calculations, and coordinate with architects, owners, and contractors. Travel nationally for site visits and meetings is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Efficient in Word and Excel.
Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit.
FE/EIT a plus.
Capable of meeting with clients and contractors.
Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Electrical engineering of power and lighting systems for institutional and commercial buildings.
Prepare calculations and coordinated construction documents that are cost-effective and constructible.
Coordinate with architects, owners, engineers, vendors and officials throughout design phases.
Perform energy, load, photometrics and voltage drop calculations.
Meet client schedules and internal design/construction time budgets.
Administer construction phase tasks: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, coordinate with contractors.
Travel nationally for site visits and meetings; prepare detailed technical reports.
