Job summary

Connect Staffing is hiring an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a PE license for a role supporting a major federal aerospace campus at NASA Johnson Space Center in the Clear Lake area of Houston, TX. The engineer will own and perform electrical design work, including AutoCAD drafting, for facility systems and infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE required.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas required.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong facilities electrical engineering/design experience.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Must be able to independently complete full-cycle electrical designs.
• Experience designing low- and medium-voltage distribution systems.
• Ability to read, develop, and review electrical drawings and documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and complete electrical designs for facilities and infrastructure.
• Perform your own design and drafting work using AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, concepts, and bases of design (BOD).
• Design LV and MV electrical distribution systems for facilities and site services.
• Evaluate existing electrical systems and propose upgrades or replacements.
• Develop project plans, requirements, workflows, and analyses.
• Create equipment layouts compliant with codes and standards.
• Support reliability, safety, and infrastructure improvements.
• Conduct field walks and inspections of electrical systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Assist troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues.
