Job summary

Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to sustain and enhance electronic hardware. You will design, update, and support EOL projects, develop schematics in Altium Designer, and work with manufacturers on prototype builds.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, manufacturable products and successful lifecycle support across healthcare-focused electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of electrical design experience in a product development or sustaining engineering environment.
• Experience with schematic capture tools; Altium Designer experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of electronic circuit design, PCB design, prototyping, and electrical test methodologies.
• Experience supporting hardware development from design through prototype and testing phases.
• Familiarity with compliance testing and regulatory requirements; medical device industry experience is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and multitasking skills with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design, update, and support electronic hardware for end-of-life (EOL) and sustaining engineering projects.
• Develop and modify schematics using Altium Designer and associated electronic design tools.
• Partner with third-party manufacturers to oversee prototype builds and design implementation.
• Support multiple concurrent sustaining engineering projects while managing priorities and project deliverables.
• Conduct design reviews, troubleshooting, and technical investigations to resolve hardware issues.
• Coordinate and support compliance and certification testing activities for medical device products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure successful product delivery and lifecycle support.
