Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in the United States. You will contribute to the design, sizing, and commissioning of power-distribution and motor-control equipment for critical processes in a nuclear technology environment.

You will work with senior engineers and contractors on design, documentation, equipment selection, and compliance tasks, including UL 508A, FAT, and field testing, while ensuring safety and QA standards across projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience as an electrical technician, junior designer, or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with CAD tools and electrical analysis software (e.g., ETAP, EasyPower) is a plus.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of motor control centers (MCCs), switchboards, and panelboards for facility power systems.
• Create and update single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlock logic, and BOMs.
• Assist in specifying and selecting equipment such as contactors, drives, transformers, UPS, and grounding components.
• Perform load checks, short-circuit inputs, and basic electrical calculations using ETAP or EasyPower.
• Develop, document, and implement protective relay settings and interlock logic for LV/MV systems.
• Create panel layouts, witness FAT, and support field commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Participate in hazard analyses, QA, and regulatory audits ensuring safety codes and site procedures.
• Produce technical reports, project updates, and stakeholder presentations.
• Perform related tasks to support project success
