Job summary

GBA's Life Sciences team in Broomfield, CO is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to design electrical systems for cutting-edge biopharmaceutical facilities. You will develop layouts, calculations, and construction documents while collaborating with architects, structural, mechanical, and automation engineers.

The role requires NEC/NFPA knowledge and experience in manufacturing environments, with opportunities for design reviews, vendor coordination, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in REVIT; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Experience designing electrical systems for manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with electrical analysis software (SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and local codes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Travel occasionally (10-20%).
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Life Sciences industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design calculations, layouts, and construction documents.
• Produce technical query documents for design clarification.
• Support engineering studies and facility assessments.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, process, and automation engineers.
• Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, UPS, and security integration.
• Participate in internal design reviews and vendor coordination.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for electrical systems and equipment.
• Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and pharma industry best practices.
