A leading company in electrical engineering seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and support electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and strong communication skills. This role involves project documentation, system design, and collaboration with sales and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Education:
Bachelor degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent applicable work experience)
Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers
Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals and design documentation
Ability to supervise technicians
Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems
Self-motivation to keep up with current electrical advances using new technologies
Using industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronics
Time-management skills for meeting deadlines
Preferred Software Experience:
Experience with IEC 61131-3 PLC languages (Structured text, Func. Block, CFC, Ladder)
Experience with Codesys 3.5 a plus (Eaton, Festo, IFM, etc.)
Familiarity with industrial fieldbus/Ethernet protocols
Experienced with HMI (human machine interface) software
Experience with 2D electrical CAD modeling (AutoCAD electrical or equivalent)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Essential Functions:
Work within our engineering best practices and follow our standards for electrical schematics, panels, programming and system solutions.
Designing and laying out new and existing electrical systems
Work closely with sales directors and engineering team to develop preferred component standardization.
Work with other engineers on circuit and system designs for projects.
Work closely with pricing / purchasing to identify standard suppliers, components, and costs.
Working closely with manufacturing and production to oversee projects.
Producing necessary design reports and documentation.
Testing new systems and making design changes as needed.
Off-Site commissioning and field service.
Engineering Systems and Sales Support:
Working with account managers to develop system statements of work.
Preparing cost estimates for customers and other employees.
Interacting with customers using verbal and written communication.
Product development.
Creating product documentation and records
