Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Electrical Design Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Tulsa, OK office. You will design and develop electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and/or products under the direction of a Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Team Leader.

This internship offers hands-on experience with digital, analog, RF and ASIC design, test procedures, documentation, and collaboration with production teams. You will learn to use software tools and test equipment under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field
• Excellent academics (GPA ≥ 3.0)
• Knowledge/experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation

Responsibilities

• Design, debug, and test digital, analog, RF, and/or ASIC under supervision
• Follow test procedures to verify compliance with regulations and quality guidelines
• Prepare test data and reports to assess design performance
• Learn and use software tools and test equipment for electronic designs
• Support production facilities in manufacturing products under supervision
• Interface with Test Engineers and factory personnel on testing and production
• Perform cost/performance tradeoffs of circuit options under supervision
• Investigate latest components and technologies under supervision
• Complete design documentation in required formats
• Assist integration and feedback on products in development as part of responsibilities

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Electrical Design Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our office in Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and/or products under the direction of a Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Team Leader.

Essential Functions

• Design, debug, and test digital, analog, Radio Frequency (RF), and/or Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Follow test procedures to verify product compliance to all applicable regulations and quality guidelines
• Prepare test data and reports to determine if the proposed design meets functional and performance specifications under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Learn and use of software tools and test equipment to formulate and test electronic designs
• Support production facilities in the manufacture of products under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Interface with the Test Engineers and factory personnel on the testing and production of the products under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Perform cost/performance tradeoff analysis of different circuit options under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Investigate the usage of the latest components and technologies under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Complete documentation of a design in the required formats under the direct supervision of an engineer
• Associates are expected to integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field
• Excellent academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
• Knowledge and/or experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation

Desired Qualifications

• Outstanding academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
• Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products
