Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a Summer 2027 Electrical Design Engineer Intern for our Tulsa, OK office. You will participate in designing and developing electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and products under the guidance of a Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Team Leader.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent academics (GPA ≥ 3.0).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, debug, and test digital, analog, RF, and/or ASIC under supervision.
  • Follow test procedures to verify product compliance to regulations and quality guidelines.
  • Prepare test data and reports to determine if the design meets specifications.
  • Learn and use software tools and test equipment to formulate and test electronic designs.
  • Support production facilities in the manufacture of products under supervision.
  • Interface with Test Engineers and factory personnel on testing/production.
  • Perform cost/performance tradeoff analysis of circuit options.
  • Investigate usage of latest components and technologies under supervision.
  • Complete documentation of a design in required formats.
  • Integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Electrical Design Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our office in Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and/or products under the direction of a Design Engineer, Senior Engineer or Team Leader.


Essential Functions


  • Design, debug, and test digital, analog, Radio Frequency (RF), and/or Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Follow test procedures to verify product compliance to all applicable regulations and quality guidelines

  • Prepare test data and reports to determine if the proposed design meets functional and performance specifications under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Learn and use of software tools and test equipment to formulate and test electronic designs

  • Support production facilities in the manufacture of products under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Interface with the Test Engineers and factory personnel on the testing and production of the products under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Perform cost/performance tradeoff analysis of different circuit options under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Investigate the usage of the latest components and technologies under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Complete documentation of a design in the required formats under the direct supervision of an engineer

  • Associates are expected to integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities


Basic Qualifications


  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field

  • Excellent academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)

  • Knowledge and/or experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation


Desired Qualifications


  • Outstanding academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)

  • Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products
