Job summary

IPS is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Emeryville, CA office. You will plan, design, and direct electrical engineering projects within the Design Department, applying your education, creativity, and expertise to resolve engineering challenges on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities include design computations, cost estimates, CAD drawings with AutoCAD/Revit, equipment selection, and producing sketches for draftsmen. Travel 5–20% as required by projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering/design experience in building design (lighting, fire alarm, power distribution).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for design documents.
• General knowledge of electrical systems and applicable codes.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design computations and cost estimates for smaller to mid-size projects.
• Use AutoCAD/Revit to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Develop electrical drawings and riser diagrams; select equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and other engineers; ensure compliance with standards.
• Research design options and document findings for the designer/engineer.
