Job Description

The Electrical Design Engineer II specializes in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components for projects within healthcare, academic, and research facilities. The role involves applying electrical engineering principles to create safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions. The position is within the engineering department and reports to an engineering studio leader. Responsibilities include analysis and design of electrical systems, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure for project types such as life science, industrial, and corporate facilities.

Position Responsibilities
  • Review and redline documentation sets
  • Mentor staff within and across disciplines to promote knowledge sharing and coordination
  • Collaborate with all disciplines during design and coordination phases
  • Provide engineering support on project teams under project leader guidance
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks
  • Lead engineering efforts from schematics through construction administration, with guidance from leadership
Technical/Professional Skills
  • Strong analytical and engineering evaluation skills
  • Excellent client relations and responsiveness
  • Proficient interpersonal and coordination skills
  • Ability to develop design solutions independently and under mentorship
  • Exceptional work planning and time management
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of research buildings, hospitals, and complex project types
  • Proficiency in CAD & Revit
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and analysis software
  • Understanding of discipline standards and quality adherence
  • Dependability and effective team collaboration
  • Strong coordination, organization, and adaptability skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related field; postgraduate preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit and CAD
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in construction, architecture, or engineering firms
  • Occasional travel (<15%) to client sites may be required
