Job summary

Helix Electric is seeking a Design Engineer to support end-to-end electrical design-build projects, from concept and budgeting through permitting, construction, and closeout. You will develop practical, code-compliant designs and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and field teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with AutoCAD and Revit, with proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with commercial electrical design and design-build projects.
• AutoCAD and Revit proficiency required or preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Experience with electrical estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, McCormick or similar).
• Experience coordinating with field teams, contractors, consultants, or utilities.

Responsibilities

• Review contract drawings, specs, owner criteria, codes, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Develop electrical design packages (power distribution, lighting, SLDs, layouts).
• Perform or review electrical calculations (load, voltage drop, short-circuit, conduit fill).
• Prepare/update drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam.
