Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. is hiring a Design Engineer to support electrical design-build projects from concept through closeout in Goodyear, AZ.

You will develop practical, code-compliant designs and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and field teams to ensure successful delivery. You will prepare drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, perform load calculations and short-circuit analysis, and contribute to design reviews, permitting, and handoffs to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience in commercial electrical design and design-build.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; Bluebeam and MS Office.
• Experience with estimating software preferred.
• EIT/PE license is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review contract drawings, owner criteria, and codes to develop design solutions.
• Create electrical design packages: power, lighting, diagrams, layouts.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis.
• Produce and coordinate drawings in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and field teams.
• Participate in design reviews, pre-bid meetings, and project handoffs.
