Job summary

Miller Industries in Tennessee seeks a Design Engineer to create and maintain electrical system designs for wrecker controls and hydraulically or pneumatically actuated systems. You will follow smaller-scope projects from design to implementation.

Responsibilities include developing products to meet customer criteria, creating schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Creo/Windchill and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or 10+ years of relevant experience in the field.
• 2+ years experience designing/analyzing Miller products or similar.
• Experience with PTC Creo design software and Windchill.
• Good understanding of Miller design practices, engineering systems and workflows.
• Basic understanding of Miller Products and good understanding of at least one main product family.

Responsibilities

• Develops products to meet criteria specified by the customer while balancing manufacturing capability and cost.
• Creates detail schematic and drawing packages for electrical systems and harnesses.
• Works within a Project Team organizational structure to accomplish project goals.
• Logs time spent on projects.
• Evaluates systems and products by designing and conducting research programs.
• Makes design changes using the Windchill Engineering Change Process.
• Collaborates with Sales, Accounting, Customer Service, Operations, Vendors or Customers to make design changes.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods and validating fabrication, assembly and installation.
