Job summary

AWC, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development of instrumentation and electrical design packages for automation and control system projects in Houston, TX.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and manufacturable solutions for PLC, SCADA, DCS, MCC, and industrial control applications. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical design, instrumentation, or controls engineering environments.
• Strong experience designing industrial electrical and automation systems using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Siemens NX, or similar platforms.
• Proven experience with PLC control systems, motor control schematics, low-voltage power distribution, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
• Working knowledge of NEC, ISA, API, PIP, UL, and NEMA standards in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of industrial electrical and instrumentation drawing packages for automation and control system projects.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, network architectures, cable schedules, and bill of materials.
• Support project execution from concept through manufacturing, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
