Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks an electrical engineer to design power distribution and lighting for manufacturing facilities, renovations, and greenfield projects. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver coordinated, code-compliant solutions.

You will work with energy modeling tools, Title 24, and EnergyPro, while supporting projects across industrial environments. Travel to sites and meetings will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• EIT certification or willingness to sit for the EIT exam.
• Proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design work.
• Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers and technicians on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to travel for project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client and company meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power distribution and lighting systems for manufacturing, industrial facility renovation, and greenfield projects.
• Develop electrical designs for manufacturing power distribution and lighting systems as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team.
• Use Title 24 and EnergyPro software to support energy code and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction and renovation projects.
• Review electrical design specifications and drawings to support accurate project execution.
• Support low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, including MCCs, generators, transformers, substations, and UPS systems.
• Manage multiple project assignments while maintaining alignment with project priorities and client needs.
• Apply NEC, CEC, and local code amendment knowledge to electrical design work.
• Read and interpret design drawings and specifications to support coordinated project delivery.
• Strengthen client and team relationships through consistent technical support and project execution.
