The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mission‑critical facilities, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and proficiency with MS Office.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to become part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Design data center electrical systems and collaborate with other disciplines to produce construction documents.
• Create designs that meet quality and budgetary requirements.
• Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes.
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during construction phases.
• Work with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
• Travel to sites for reviews, audits, and startup activities.
• Contribute creative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• United States citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for the relevant region.
• Experience guiding design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Benefits

Competitive salary range based on location: USA, OH, Columbus – 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually; USA, TX, Austin – 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually; USA, VA, Herndon – 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually.
