Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to translate designs into detailed electrical plans, layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools. You will develop calculations for loads and distribution, prepare technical drawings, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with designers and managers to deliver accurate, on-time designs.

You will also update drawings for project changes and coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction and design.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and Chicago Electrical Code.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit, Bluebeam, and SKM PowerTools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and single-line diagrams using CAD software.
• Perform electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and controls.
• Prepare technical drawings to accurately represent electrical systems.
• Modify and update existing drawings based on project changes and requirements.
• Collaborate with draftsmen, project managers, and team members to ensure design accuracy.
• Design projects in accordance with building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to integrate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, and architectural plans.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct site surveys to assess existing conditions and infrastructure.
• Maintain organized records of drawings and related documentation.
