Job summary

ESPO Corporation is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to manage electrical design from concept through construction for fast-paced tenant buildouts and facilities projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on CAD work (AutoCAD required) with Revit and SolidWorks a plus, along with strong knowledge of codes (ASPE/IMC/IECC) and project management experience. This is a direct-hire, on-site position in Oak Brook Terrace, IL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design or related field.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of engineering codes and standards (ASPE, IMC, IECC).
• Experience with project management across all phases.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design, modeling and documentation.
• Code review and verification of drawings.
• Lighting calculations and circuitry design.
• Site surveys and shop drawing reviews.

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - CAD
Location: OakBrook Terrace, IL
Permanent/Direct Hire
Pay range: $85,000 - $125,000

This position is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys owning projects from concept through construction and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The projects are small and move quickly. Ranging from 2,000 SF to 50,000 SF small tenant buildouts, commercial, retail, and manufacturing facilities, with schedules that can range from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on project scope and complexity.

Responsibilities:

• Electrical design, modeling and documentation
• Code Review
• Lighting calculations and circuitry
• Design knowledge with:
  • Power distribution, load calculations, specifications
  • Generator Systems
• Site survey
• Shop drawing review

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: 5 years +
• B.S. Engineering
• Knowledge of engineering codes and standards e.g. ASPE, IMC, IECC
• Experience in all phases of project management
• Experience with AutoCad a must, Revit and Solidworks a plus
• Knowledge of HVAC Engineering is a big plus
