Overview

Reviewing schematics and drawings, supporting production and customer issues, and troubleshooting problems where the cause may be design, manufacturing, or application related.

Defining technical issues, recommending solutions, and estimating recovery timelines. Work is hands-on and judgment-driven, often involving ambiguity.

Proposal and application engineering support is required, including evaluating requirements, proposing design approaches using existing product families, and assisting with labor estimates (secondary to sustainment work).

Responsibilities

• Support technical resolutions on existing product lines (technical troubleshooting, MRB, compliance verification, performance analyses)
• Design with composite materials (i.e. cutting & kitting, ply definition & orientation, layup & curing methods/ techniques)
• Advise on technical compliance on new and existing products
• Functional analysis on new and developing designs
• Generate 3D modeling of components and work with Drafting teammates to develop 2D drawings
• Sustainment engineering involves taking stakeholder feedback, defining the problem, a technical solution, and an estimated completion date
• Will have oversight / training under current ECS SME; this is a knowledge transfer to enable execution on critical tasks

Software/Tools Used

• Mentor Graphics / OrCAD / Altium (any is acceptable if schematic-focused)
• Hands-on work with physical PCBs (review, troubleshooting, bring-up support)
• Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Excel (BOMs, labor estimates, analysis support)
